The Outliers: Chosen to Stand Out
Subtitle: God Doesn’t Use the Expected—He Uses the Obedient
BIG IDEA
Outliers in Scripture were often overlooked, underestimated, or misunderstood—but they were never outside of God’s plan.
POINT 1: You’re Not Left Out—You’re Set Apart
Scripture: 1 Samuel 16:11–13- David was the last to be considered, but the first in God’s heart.- Being an outlier often means being set apart in private before being revealed in public.
POINT 2: Outliers Don’t Fit In Because They’re Designed to Break the Mold
Scripture: Romans 12:2- Joseph’s dreams made him stand out—and made others uncomfortable.- Esther wasn’t supposed to be queen—but she became the one who saved a nation.
POINT 3: God Uses What the World Overlooks
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1:27 –29- God specializes in choosing the ones the world would count out.- Outliers are often misunderstood before they’re honored.
POINT 4: Outliers Carry a Kingdom Assignment
Scripture: Jeremiah 1:5- You’re not an accident—you’re an answer.- Heaven doesn’t need another copy—it’s looking for the original you.
CLOSING MOMENT: YOU WERE BUILT TO BE DIFFERENT
Reflective Questions:- Have you been trying to fit in where you were called to stand out?- Have you rejected your uniqueness because it made others uncomfortable?
