Stay the Course

Monday Morning Devotional

6/1/2026

Scripture: Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)

"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."

There are seasons in life when the assignment feels heavier than expected. The vision God gave you is still alive, but the journey has become painful. Disappointment, financial pressure, grief, uncertainty, and exhaustion can make even the strongest believer wonder if it is time to walk away.

Recently, I found myself reflecting on how easy it is to confuse relief with obedience.

When we are hurting, relief becomes attractive. We want the pressure to stop. We want the waiting to end. We want the burden to lift. Sometimes relief looks like quitting the assignment, abandoning the vision, or stepping away from what God called us to build.

Yet throughout difficult seasons, the Lord kept whispering one phrase to my heart:

"Stay the course."

Not because the road was easy.

Not because I had all the answers.

Not because the pain wasn't real.

But because God knew something I could not yet see.

In John 11, Martha said to Jesus:

"Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died." (John 11:21)

Martha's disappointment was real. Her expectations had not been met. Yet Jesus was not absent. He was working toward a greater revelation.

How often do we look at our own situations and wonder why God delayed?

Perhaps what feels like a setback is actually preparation.

Perhaps what feels dead is simply waiting for God's timing.

Perhaps what feels like the end is really the beginning of a new chapter.

If you are weary today, remember this:

Pain may make you want relief. Relief may make you want to quit. But God may be saying, "Stay the course."

The assignment is not over.

The vision is not dead.

The story is not finished.

Your due season is still ahead.

Prayer

Father, help me remain faithful when the journey becomes difficult. Give me strength when I am weary and wisdom when I am tempted to abandon what You have called me to build. Teach me to trust Your timing, even when I do not understand it. Help me stay the course until I see the fulfillment of Your promises. In Jesus' name, Amen.
