Don’t Get Stuck in the Middle: The Power of Deciding Now

Scripture:“Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” — Proverbs 11:14 NKJV

This month, our series has been centered on The Power of Now—recognizing the moment we are in and rising to the occasion.

In Part 1, we looked at Esther and how she had to recognize where God had positioned her and make the most of her moment. Tonight, we will look at the four lepers in 2 Kings 7. They came to a place where they had to make a decision: remain where they were or move toward the other side.

Life is full of decisions. Some are difficult. Some decisions prove to be right, and some may not turn out the way we expected. But one thing is certain: you cannot stay stuck in the middle forever.

Sometimes we procrastinate because we are afraid of making the wrong choice. We overthink, delay, and remain indecisive because we do not know what may be waiting on the other side. Yet how will you ever reach the other side if you refuse to move forward?

Maybe God has placed a business, ministry, career change, or relocation on your heart. Perhaps you know your current job has reached its end, but you have not put in the work to prepare for something better. Maybe you sense God calling you into a new season, but fear has kept you from taking the first step.

Your situation may not look like anyone else’s, but the call to move in faith is still the same. Now is the time to take the next step forward. You may not have every answer, but you can ask God for wisdom, direction, and trustworthy people who can help you see clearly.

Do not let fear of the unknown keep you imprisoned in the familiar. Pray, seek wise counsel, prepare, and move when God says move.

Reflection:What decision have you been delaying because you are afraid of what may be on the other side?

Closing thought:You do not have to see the whole path to take the next step. Don’t get stuck in the middle—move forward in faith.
