Title: “Be Careful What You Call Yourself”
Be careful with the title you choose, especially if you've chosen it for yourself.
Lately, I’ve found myself before the Lord with some deep inward questions. My spirit has been stirred, even grieved, about the line between the true prophets of God and those who only appear to be. This isn’t something I’ve talked about openly., Maybe I mentioned it to one person, but I kept bringing it quietly before God. And the Holy Spirit, who guides us into all truth, began to answer.
“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth…”
— John 16:13a (NIV)
When you are fully yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit, He will begin to reveal what you could not see on your own. He will uncover the truth where deception has tried to hide. He will warn, confirm, and expose—not to shame, but to protect.
Twice now, the Lord has brought me strong messages concerning the true vs. the false in this prophetic era, and I believe He’s just getting started. Why? Because the sheep must know the voice of the true Shepherd and who is truly sent by Him.
“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
— 1 John 4:1 (KJV)
There are many who desire the platform, but not the consecration. Many who want the microphone, but not the mantle. And many who carry the title but not the oil.
We are in a time where spiritual discernment is not optional it’s vital. Every believer, especially those who listen to prophetic voices, should ask the Holy Spirit to heighten their discernment.
“For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.”
— Matthew 24:5 (NKJV)
“You will know them by their fruits.”
— Matthew 7:16 (NKJV)
Let us not be so hungry for a “word” that we forget The Word. Let us not be so desperate for validation that we fall for imitation. And let us never assume that a title guarantees truth. God still separates the wheat from the tares and He will make the difference known.
“For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.”
— Luke 8:17 (NKJV)
